Feel free to print this and use it for cards, wall pictures and general personal use! If you really like it and want to show your appreciation you can make me incredibly happy by sending a little donation via PayPal or sharing this post on facebook and twitter. Either of these things makes me happier than anyone could think possible and will make me smile crazily (you can demand photos if you don’t believe me)!

This is an illustration I did for fun a few years ago. At the time I was at a certain well-known university studying Mathematics and battling with depression and it was just nice to create something again. Usually I’d use music to combat depression, but I discovered that playing music in halls of residence gets you hated pretty quickly by the hall wardens and there were only 8 practice rooms on campus between over 20,000 students so there were never any free (no wonder the waiting list for counselling there was about 3 months long). One of the guys in my halls resorted to practicing his saxophone in a field, because he was threatened by the hall warden for playing in his room. I’m glad that I left.

NOTE: There might be a depression post coming up soon, because I’ve recovered enough to feel strong enough to speak about it and because I think it’s good to tell people about these things for solidarity and to reduce stigma (because stigma against an illness that affects over 25% of the population at one point or another is ridiculous).

Chicks coming soon!

Cute chicken family with chicks.

Our hens are broody at the moment and I’m looking forward to photographing the chicks once they hatch! Hopefully there’ll be more cute comedy moments like this!

Does anyone out there use society6?

Hannah Sterry Cartoons & Illustration: New Society6 Shop

I’ve just opened a new shop with society6 because of their range of products and the professional look of the shop galleries, but I’m interested to hear the opinions of people already using the site to sell their work. I’ve spotted Jess Smart Smiley‘s illustrations on there and Alastair‘s photography, but wondered if anyone else on here uses it too and how they think it compares with other print-on-demand sites like RedBubble, CafePress and Zazzle.

Here’s what the shop looks like so far!

Feel free to follow me on there if you’re interested in the work too.

I’m interested to know what you think.

I’ll probably be posting more on Sterry Cartoons soon because university term ends in less than a week and as soon as exams finish, I have a job interview at Plymouth Arts Centre and would really love to get it!

If you want to wish me luck and motivate me to doodle faster, I’d massively appreciate some more likes and shares of the cartoons on the Sterry Cartoons facebook page! Show anyone who might like them! 😀

Hope you’re all having a good week!

A selection of the images available on my Redbubble profile.
They’re all available as cards and most are also available as prints and posters too.

Photography is my way of showing my appreciation and love of the beautiful South Devon countryside and the local wildlife. A particular interest in macro photography means I can often be found in awkward crouching positions near flowers, just trying to get the perfect shot of a colourful bee or butterfly.

So far my work has been featured a number of times in the South Hams Gazette and gained multiple awards on Pixoto.com.

You can follow my camera-wielding exploits on RedBubble and Facebook!
