A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square

Performing at The Duke of Cornwall Hotel in Plymouth.

After a happy, hectic week of friends and weddings, I decided to use this Sunday afternoon to practice a bit of harp and attempted to video a little bit. Sorry about the blur – I’m shy! 🙂

This is one of my favourite jazz standards, written by Manning Sherwin, and I hope you like it!

It was a lazy afternoon in Plymouth, so I decided to record a little jazz video with my boyfriend and this is how it turned out!

Let me know what you think! 🙂

Crazy Rhythm with Hamer & Isaacs Gypsy Swing Band

Hamer and Isaacs gypsy swing band - Live and Lovely album art

Here’s a little video of Hamer & Isaacs gypsy swing band playing at the White Horse Inn in December! I was lucky enough to guest with them and Steve Jenner (guitarist) that evening and had a great evening of jazz, meeting new people and friendly banter! 🙂

At the time the landlord was running a 12 days of Christmas event which led to this brilliantly surreal image of inn, innkeeper and camel.

I wasn’t joking about the camel…

It’s not every day that you see a camel drinking a pint of lager.

Anyway, Hamer & Isaacs have recently released their new live album “Live & Lovely” and you can listen to it all on bandcamp! Just click below to listen and download!

Jazz Sketch

This is just a little idea for a jazz tune. I’ll embed a better video once I’ve recorded it properly, but for now, here’s some real, rough-around-the-edges music:

Let me know if you like the sketch. I still don’t know whether uploading at this stage is a good idea. Most music isn’t seen at this sketchy, made-up-on-the-spot stage.

On another note, does anyone else look like a crazy fool when they’re playing piano? I seem to rock, grin madly and occasionally headbang (all unintentionally).

Horrible Histories… YAY!

This is just my favourite rap ever. I usually hate rap, but something about royals being ridiculously styled, rapping, party animals appeals to me.
